I started this anthology for the Mercy Thompson story of course, but I am enjoying the others as well. It had come from a pay phone. There weren’t many of those left, now that cell phones had made it less profitable for the phone companies to keep repairing the damage of vandals.
Anthology Average is 3 stars. There were a few I thought were pretty good, but nothing outstanding. One story I thought would be worth pursuing the series but was turned off by the blurbs. This anthology is worth reading if you want to read a series completely. 1. Retribution Clause by Ilona Andrews...
It's books like this that give anthologies a bad name. :/ Much of the material gave me the prologue/excerpt vibe. You know, there's more to this story but the author just gave you a little teaser in hopes of selling you a bunch of books. Kinda like a serial. Yeah...that doesn't work for me in a bo...
A wide and varied collection of shorts. I'd bought this one some time ago due to the one by Jim Butcher. Since I was reading the Kate Daniels series, I dragged it out. Well, it's better than most of the romance anthologies I've read, if only because there were no actually bad entries. That does no...
GR Cleanup Project I read this book on audio during my too long ride to work. Each story seems to have a different narrator and I enjoyed the change of voice for each story (even if every story wasn't so great). The first story A Questionable Client by Ilona Andrews is a prequel to the Kate Daniels s...
Anthology. So skim it is. I picked authors that I've read before but then again...
Strange Brew by P.N. Elrod, Patricia Briggs, Jim Butcher, Rachel Caine, Karen Chance, Charlaine Harris, Faith Hunter, Caitlin Kittredge, Jenna Maclaine Source: Borrowed from Library! Book Description:Today’s hottest urban fantasy authors come together in this delicious brew that crackles and...
Loved Moria and Tom's story by Patricia Briggs. It was really the only reason I picked up the book. Can that woman write anything bad? I highly doubt it!
