3 1/2 stars. It reminded me of Touch of Power and there were also things in it that reminded me of Star Crossed by Elizabeth Bunce, but this one more of a middle grade book.
Definitely a great series, but I think it might be better for an older, more mature kid. It has some violent scenes, but I loved reading through it and the action started from the first page and didnt stop until the end. I will be adding the next books to be "to read" shelf.
