4.0 The Shifter - Review
besides the ending being ridiculously cheerful with an annoying go get them attitude, and the over-whelming amount of crying done by Nya from guilt this book was actually pretty good. it was a quick fun read. I overall enjoyed the main character, Nya and the main side characters. i found them amusin...

3.0 The Shifter (The Healing Wars, #1)
3 1/2 stars. It reminded me of Touch of Power and there were also things in it that reminded me of Star Crossed by Elizabeth Bunce, but this one more of a middle grade book.

Definitely a great series, but I think it might be better for an older, more mature kid. It has some violent scenes, but I loved reading through it and the action started from the first page and didnt stop until the end. I will be adding the next books to be "to read" shelf.
