I'm a visual artist. 1948 was the year I was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After I graduated from UNC-G and married, taught art and then worked in interior design, I also hoped to become a mom. The year 1990 found me moving alone to a Greek island, and I've been there ever since, painting my bliss and keeping journals. My first edition was a semi-fictional account of how Rosaline Reynolds, after a series of events (not unlike my own) is finally able to make the decision to leave her old 'comfort zone' and fully embrace a new life with unbridled passion. As you join her interior and exterior voyages via her diaries and memories through emotional upheavals, mistakes, self-doubts and the eventual pure joy of allowing her dreams to unfold, you may tend to agree that the creative harnessing of 'the unexpected' may be a much wiser choice than fearing it. It was the Greek philosopher Heraclitus who is credited with saying "all things are in flux, like a river." Keeping that in mind, I am in the process of having a Second Edition of GREEKSCAPES Journeys with an Artist edited. The second edition will be illustrated with my paintings, as many readers have requested, as well as being a true Memoir. No more peeking out from behind Rose's petal skirts! There are a few surprises that were not in the original version, and for those of you who have bought the first edition, the illustrated memoir will also be on Kindle for quick and less expensive access. My full biography and some of my work can be seen on my website: www.pamelajanerogers.com - Do be sure to check out my youtube pieces about 'my island' of Poros - ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir_g_2tRw0E ). You'll probably understand why I moved here and felt compelled to lay down my paintbrush long enough to write GREEKSCAPES Journeys with an Artist. Now, back to my studio -Yeia Mas!
