Pamela Ravan-Pyne writes with a focus on women's issues and human trafficking. She wrote, "Sock Hunting and Other Pursuits of a Working Mother," and various magazine articles before moving with her family to Bucharest Romania where she lived for eight years. There she managed the Lydia magazine office and worked with a humanitarian organization serving abandoned children. While in Romania, Pam met Iana Matei who later opened a safe house for victims of forced prostitution. Pam wrote the fictionalized biography, "I Kidnap Girls: Stealing from traffickers, restoring their victims," depicting Iana Matei's initiation into the human trafficking realm. The story describes how a phone call to one woman led to the rescue of over 400 victims of forced prostitution. Portions of the proceeds from this book go to Iana Matei's work with trafficking victims. Pam now lives in Oregon where she continues to write and studies Gerontology. Her idea of fun is river rafting on a hot day, biking, and visits with her three children who live in different parts of the country and provide great places for their mother to visit.
