Pascale Quiviger was born in 1969 in Montreal (Canada), to a French-speaking family. She studied philosophy and painting. Her first novel, 'Le cercle parfait' ('The Perfect Circle') won the Canadian Governor General's award in 2004 and was short-listed for the ScotiaBank Giller Prize. She moved to Nottingham (UK) in 2008 after spending 10 years in Italy. She works as a writer, a painter, a visual arts teacher and a hypnotherapist.
