Patricia Florio was born in Brooklyn, New York in a close-knit Italian family a few miles from where the Brooklyn Dodgers disappointed and occasionally overjoyed their fans. "When I was born, I came into the world having two mothers," the subject of her story in her debut memoir. After a 17-year stint as a federal court reporter, Patricia went back to college for her BA and grad school for her MA and MFA. She admits, "I've always been a late bloomer, but when I get it, I get it all the way." She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University; she's raised four children, and they have blessed her with four beautiful precious grandchildren. She lives with her husband Ralph of 40 years and they enjoy their beach community to the fullest.
