City College of the City University of New York (chemistry)Paul has been fortunate to have been honored with many educational awards that reflect his decades-long commitment to the core idea that students matter, including the career designation as University of Illinois Distinguished Teacher/Scholar, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Distinguished Teaching Award, The Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers Regional Award for Excellence in Science Education, and the University of Nebraska (Career) Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award. Paul is a lifetime member of the University of Nebraska Academy of Distinguished Teachers, as well as a Fellow in the Education Division of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Paul's current interests include the multicultural/international nature of science and science teaching, curriculum development for a sustainable world, the relationship of mathematics preparation to the mastery of first-year chemistry, and the challenges that are faced by non-traditional students in chemistry courses.
