Paul Parker's interest in motor sport and associated matters stemmed from his childhood experience of exotic machinery.During the late 1960s/70s he worked in the upper echelons of what was then known as the 'carriage trade' where he had the opportunity to drive all the motoring exotica. This included Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, AC Cobra, all the period Jaguars and much more. This combined with his regular attendance of most of the major British events at Goodwood, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Crystal Palace et al in period and beyond.He is a member of the Vintage Sports Car Club and had his first book Sixties Motor Racing, Palawan Press, published in 2000. This was followed by Jaguar at Le Mans 1950-95 Haynes Publishing, in 2001 which was made possible by Karl Ludvigsen for whom Paul worked during the late 1990s as archivist manager. Two years on saw the launch of F1 in Camera 1970-79 which began a series of works featuring F1 and Sports Car racing during the 1950s/60s/70s which continues to this day. A full list of these titles can be found on the author's website www.paulparkerincamera.com in addition to forthcoming projects.Aside from this the author has raced a Lister Jaguar and written for Octane, Autosport, Classic Cars, Motor Sport, Jaguar World Monthly, Forza, the Daily Telegraph and others plus track tests of assorted machinery including two of the three original 'low drag' E types.
