I'd expected something like "The Clan of the Cavebear", and it's NOTHING like that, but it's still quite good in its own right. I don't know that I'll be rereading it too quickly though.
The combination of real history and fantasy blew me away the first time I read it. Being a history buff I just loved it. And still do.
