In a departure from the style of the previous books, Perfect Fifths is not told in the format of one of Jessica's journals; instead, readers are given a glimpse into both Marcus and Jessica's heads through an omniscient narrator. This change in narration took away the air of mystery that made Marcus...

This book reads as though the author wrote down all her ideas for what she'd put in the book...and then stopped. Yes, events happen, but the structure and scenario are forced, the whole middle section reads like a one-act play (all dialogue, no stage direction), and the fantastically written sexual ...

At this point, the only option left for me is to take every single series/trilogy/duology finale and dump it into a giant cardboard box, tightly wrapped with duct tape, haul it into my attic and then write "Do Not Open Until 2014" on it. Quite simply put, this year is just not my year for series con...

This book was really, really the Perfect Fifth. The relationship between Marcus and Jessica culminates in this fifth instalment and last of the series. I've read it in less than 24 hours. I just couldn't stop reading it once I started it. Looking back, I now understand the geniousness in these books...

I only read this because it had Marcus's POV. He is a fantastic character and I really like him. Jessica? Meh. Their rapid fire banter got a little old [especially when it was filled with weird [cough], [sniff] and [pause] brackets throughout] but, I'm happy he got his HEA.

This review was originally seen on acreads.blogspot.com.I feel as though I need to begin this review by saying that I haven't touched a Jessica Darling novel in oh, four or more years. I was so unhappy with Fourth Comings (for reasons including but not limited to: the pacing, Jessica's character, an...

Perfect Fifths gave me what I was not expecting, especially as the setting of the book is an airport during one day three years after the last book ended. The style of the book also changed from diary and first person to third person. In Perfect Fifths Marcus and Jessica literally run into each other...

It got a little hokey close to the end there with that Manilow karaoke moment, (even though I’d been dreading/anticipating/expecting such a scene the moment she said he was the “showman of our time.”) That aside, I can honestly say that I liked moments of this, just not for the same reasons I enjoye...

I wavered between two and three stars, but finally decided on three because I enjoyed the first half of the book. It was the last half, and the ending, that left me feeling a bit disappointed that the series had to end like that. I thought the Jessica Darling series could have ended with a bit mor...
