Sadly, this wasn't the first VCA book I ever read (I started off with the Cutler family series) but when I finally got around to Flowers in the Attic, I was not disappointed. It is easily one of the best books I have ever read. The drama, the intrigue, the suspense... I have read this book several t...
This book was horrible, I'm actually appalled at how highly rated this trainwreck of a sequel is. You'd assume in a book full of characters I'd have felt an attachment to more than just Carrie. I believe in a way that's the main reason I pushed through this crap. I had to know what happened to th...
I guess I liked this book as a preteen. I kinda vaguely remembered parts of it. I actually really liked the remake lifetime movies they made recently too. This book as an adult though not so much. It's just ugh so bad in so many ways. The Sexism, the narcissism, the redundancy.
Holy guacamole.I gave four stars to Flowers in the Attic, because apparently I'm shallow and weird. So it was kind of a relief to find myself thinking "This is OFFENSIVELY bad" on a regular basis as I read the sequel. (It only earns two stars because of the ending -- see below.)How offensive?Let's s...
Book two is even more sketchy and creepy than book 1! Cathy starts having sex with Paul who is her GUARDIAN, who's last wife went insane, killed their son, and is in a mental institution. And then she marries that cocky dancer, Julian who abuses her and eventually commits suicide because he couldn't...
Series 1: Dollanganger 1, 2, 3 Series 2: Casteel 1 Series 3: Cutler 1 Review First of all, I feel pathetic for showing up after so many months with no reviews at all. I personally feel I let myself down; this was after all mainly a source of me to get my thoughts about books out. I am back though an...
... and no one can blame them when they have such mum like Corrine. First she took her kids to grandparent’s house after her husband's death and then left them in the attic. It supposed to be a temporary 2-day situation, but days changed into weeks, weeks into months and months into years. She visit...
Review to come...omgEdit: where to start? I have so many feels. This book is like a twisted soap opera with a dash of wtf. I felt for Cathy, I wanted to invite her over for tea and a chat, and hand her the Courage to Heal. You know her other lovers are fucked up when I WANT her to be with Chris, but a...

Cathy is a hot mess in this book. In some ways I think she even crosses the line in her attempt at revenge against her mother. This book is full of angst and more tragedy. I didn't like it as well as the first one though. It's still a decent read.
