An overland Silk Road trip took Pete Spurrier from London to China in 1993, and he has lived in Hong Kong ever since, exploring the city's backstreets and hiking its hills. When not bribing sampan ladies to transport him to distant islands, he spends his time deciphering the secret language of minibus drivers. Pete's guided walks have appeared in the South China Morning Post and other publications, and he is the author of three Hong Kong hiking guidebooks.In addition to writing, Pete runs Blacksmith Books, which publishes non-fiction about China.
