Beautifully written biography on Alexander the Great. Includes quite a bit on his father, Phillip. Enough detail so you know what it going on but not letters and letters of irrelevant stuff. This book read more like a novel than a dry history text.
An enjoyable though concise overview of Ancient Greek history. They should have named this book "Ancient Greece in a nutshell."
Ornery old man takes on what's wrong with people of his days. Stunning are the similarities between what he's got to complain about and what one could rant about now. People are people, we don't change.
