Peter Lucas is a verteran Boston political reporter and columnist who has worked for the Boston Herald, the Boston Globe and the Lowell Sun. He has written five books, three of which are on Albania. In 1986, Lucas, an award winning journalist, was the first American reporter allowed into then Stalinist-controlled Albania in 30 years. His 10- part series on the then closed Communist Party police state made international news. Lucas, whose books have been translated into Albanian, has visited the country more than 30 times on various research projects. A graduate of Boston University, Lucas was born in Cambridge and grew up in Boston.
