I kind of regret not reading this when I was younger. It pretty much has everything I loved when I was a kid: pirates, sword fights, flying. Reading this as an adult, it doesn't seem nearly as wonderful. Every time I got caught up in the story I would get thrown out by some racist or sexist comment....

You guys all know the story of Peter Pan, right? A boy who refuses to grow up flies through the window of Wendy, John, and Michael’s nursery and leads them to Neverland, where they meet the lost boys and battle pirates. Peter Pan was originally a play that was first performed in 1904. In 1911, the...

Let's talk about Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. I couldn't believe that up until this year I had never read this book. I knew the story, of course, but I had never actually read it. I remedied that and I am so glad that I did. Also, I'm glad that the version that I picked up included a biography of Barri...

Well, I really didn't like this book. We could talk about the nature of not wanting to grow up and responsibility being scary but really Peter was mostly horrible. We all know that person who is so full of himself that anytime anyone has a suggestion he takes it as his own. Yeah that's Peter. He...

Childhood favorite. Definitely some strange parts—I recall mention of a fairy orgy—but the story itself is so magical and enticing, that it's difficult to feel anything except love for it. Will always be one of my favorites.

I've finally read another classic. And this time it is Peter Pan, this beautiful edition is part of the Puffin Chalk covers. I think what I liked most overall about this book was that Peter wasn't who I thought he was. There are parts of this book that didn't sit too well with me. As there was no ...

Summary: One starry night, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell lead the three Darling children over the rooftops of London and away to Neverland--the island where lost boys play, mermaids splash and fairies make mischief. But a villainous-looking gang of pirates lurk in the docks, led by the terrifying Captai...

I had of course seen the Disney movie, but it was years ago and I couldn't really remember much details about it. But when the group challenge on one of my forums requested books featuring pirates, this was the only book I could think of. I was pleasantly surprised. I've found that quite some stor...
