Peter Prichard grew up surrounded by books written by various relatives dating back to the early 1800's. His initial writing which included book chapters and newspaper columns focused on helping individuals reach their career goals. The website workforthecommongood.com speaks to that work. Dawn of Hope is his first novel and is inspired by the work he has done that won him the Youth Advocate Award from the town in which he lives. Dawn Mortenson, the heroine of his novel, fights the sexual abuse of young people and the relentless campaign by the tobacco industry to get young people to start smoking. Big Tobacco is targeting his grandsons which makes him crazy. His follow-up to Dawn of Hope, Dawn of the Tobacco Wars, will be published during the 4th quarter of 2015 and focuses on what regular people can do to lessen the impact of the tobacco industry killing machine.
