Philip Hunt is a former Brisbane disk jockey who joined World Vision Australia in 1976 in its communications department. He had completed a BA in English and Journalism while on radio and was not actually planning a long career in the overseas aid world when he responded to a job vacancy for a "Communicator".That action moved the Hunt family of four from Queensland to Victoria and thus began 23 years with World Vision. First in the world of Communications and Fundraising. Then from 1982-84 as chief executive of a new support office in Hong Kong where he completed an MBA in his spare time. Later Philip was appointed CEO of World Vision of Australia. At the end of this time, in 1996, Philip wrote the book Journeys to Justice. In 1997 Philip was appointed Vice President for the Middle East and Eastern Europe region of World Vision International and the family moved to live in Vienna (since that was the transport hub for the region ... and, not to mention, a nice place to come home to). Philip wrote a number of Journeys to Justice Briefs during this time (gradually being made available in Kindle). On returning to Australia in 2001 Philip put his organisational skills to work in two significant works of organisational re-engineering. First at the Deakin University Student Association, and later at VicRelief Foodbank (now Foodbank Victoria). These days Philip is retired. He and his wife, Judy, live in Warrnambool, on the South West Coast of Victoria, Australia.
