PHILLIP DEPOY is the award-winning author of thirteen novels, thirty-seven plays, and several works of non-fiction. He has served as artistic director for professional theatre companies and several university theatre programs. DePoy began his professional career in 1965 with the Actors and Writers Workshop. He achieved a masters degree in performance art in the 1970s before becoming a writer in residence for the Georgia Council for the Arts and a nationally reviewed performance artist. In the 1980s he was composer in residence for the Academy Theatre. In the 1990s he was Artistic Director of Theatrical Outfit (Beowulf, which he created and directed there, received international review, including London's Plays and Players.) Beginning in the early 2000s he created the theatre major program for Clayton State University and became that program's first director. He is a recipient of the Edgar Award, given in New York for the best mystery play in the nation in the year 2002, and the GACS 2012 Author of the Year. He created the Flap Tucker series of mysteries, the Fever Devilin novels, a stand-alone thriller called THE KING JAMES CONSPIRACY, and works of non-fiction including THE TAO AND THE BARD and MESSAGES FROM BEYOND. DePoy lives in Decatur, Georgia, with his wife, the playwright Lee Nowell.

This was just not the book for me. I could not relate to the main character, Fever at all. He returns to his boyhood mountain cabin to find a dead body on his porch. He interacts with the town people who all seem weird. The best part of this book for me was the passion for chair-making shown by ...
