A lack of character development prevented this novel - about a young woman searching for clues about the recently deceased mother she never knew - from really getting off the ground.
Uhhh I couldn't get past the first couple of chapters on this one. I didn't like the writing style at all and was so bored, I almost fell asleep several times. Gave up.
Oddly without any display of emotion.
When I saw on the Waterstones Facebook page that they were looking for reviewers for this book I decided to apply for a copy to see what it was like as not one I had heard of before and probably not a book I would have picked myself. The story begins with the young girl (we never do get to find out...
