Meh. It was okay. A good first book but I find myself liking her later writing better. The book was fine, I guess but didn't hold my interest. I skimmed too much of the later part of the book to give this three stars. Originally posted on GR in April 2013
There was not nearly enough groveling on Alex's part to make up for the horrible things he said, not once, but twice. Charlotte forgave him way, way too easily. Kind of killed the book for me.
While this story had potential, it was just to contrived and didn't make too much sense. I really didn't like the characters especially the male protagonist. There were some good parts to the story but everyone's constant worry about what the society gossips would say, and the almost deliberate misunderstandings between the hero and heroine, just got too annoying and finally turned me off the story completely.
