Meh. It was okay. A good first book but I find myself liking her later writing better. The book was fine, I guess but didn't hold my interest. I skimmed too much of the later part of the book to give this three stars. Originally posted on GR in April 2013

There was not nearly enough groveling on Alex's part to make up for the horrible things he said, not once, but twice. Charlotte forgave him way, way too easily. Kind of killed the book for me.

While this story had potential, it was just to contrived and didn't make too much sense. I really didn't like the characters especially the male protagonist. The other problem was that the whole driving force of this novel or the misunderstanding alone was too weak and makes the characters weak an...

There were some good parts to the story but everyone's constant worry about what the society gossips would say, and the almost deliberate misunderstandings between the hero and heroine, just got too annoying and finally turned me off the story completely. So I can almost forgive her... but not quite. If you're new to romance novels, please take my advice and DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS SERIES. It will put you off Re...

Enjoyable read, girl meets boy at a masquerade ball ( cyprian's ball, but she did not realize this) gets caught up in garden with boy, gets ruined by him. Flash to three years later, she meets him again but he does not recognise her. They get married but there is that total big misunderstanding thin...

I really wish I read this series in order, because then it wouldn't have given so much away. I have to say this was the best from the 3 books. The others come in *very* close and again I have to hand it to Eloisa James she really knows how to write drama and angst-filled forlorn couples. This is tot...

Nice writing and interesting plot in this deeply emotional romance. However, the hero tops my list of worst heroes ever, since he distrusts and browbeats the heroine repeatedly and she is stupid enough to stay by his side despite the way he treats her. The fact that after hating both protagonists I ...
