I finally finished this book! YAY! My goodness, it took me forever to do so. It's as romantic as I had expected but also very difficult to keep track of all the Miss Bennetts. Lindsey Duncan's narration was delightful and she infused it with a lot of emotion. Before reading/listeningI have tried many...

Although I loved reading from an early age, I didn’t usually enjoy the classics we were required to read for school. In my adult years, I’ve mostly avoided them aside from several science fiction and fantasy classics. As a result of a conversation in a thread on another site, I decided to read one...

A bland, tedious, "romance" (couldn't find the romance) novel with a collection of one-dimensional, shallow, irritating characters. PS: The 2005 movie version is better than the book.

Books of 1916: Part One 2016 was a tough year in many ways, so may I introduce you to 1916? I think you’re going to love 1916. I was struck by something I read in a (very nice) review of one of the books of 1916: —“because anything first published in 1916 that does not contain a word or thought ...

I freely admit that there isn’t anything special about the plot and story in Pride & Prejudice, but it’s just so well done that it’s still one of my favourites. Austen brings this ordinary story to life. There’s a liveliness and wit to her dialogue and characters that is hard to equal then or now. ...

My third time to read this book and I absolutely adored it of course. I've been listening to the podcast In Want of a Wife along with it and it's great to have good commentary. I particularly love the last chapter!!

When I had the opportunity to get this awesome audiobook version for review, I thought it would be a nice experiment. How...

This is another one of those books that makes me feel like I am a little left out of the cool kids club. Like, maybe I should re-read the book. Am I missing something? I know people profess their undying love for this book, and it is a literary classic ... and I should be head over heals in love too...
