Or perhaps it's a personality clash? I feel like I should love this, and confession, I've tried reading this before. I didn't go bananas for it then either, so it might indicate a clash of personalities. Another one that's funny, that's well done, and that I couldn't quite find a reason to giv...

Princeless is a feminist fairy tale for younger readers. It takes the traditional princess in a tower trope and inverts it by having the princess save herself. A positive message, but not a lot of story.

I did not expect to like this one nearly as much as I did. I figured it was a cute concept with a WOC as a main character and as royalty, which was an especially nice touch, but I did not anticipate the awesomeness. There's just too much to love here. It got me right at the beginning when she was ye...

Both the kids have been stealing my comics recently, which is new because it used to be just the 12 year old. I have the sense to put up stuff like Sex Criminals when I know it's just him, but some of the stuff I'd let him read, like Chew, isn't appropriate for almost 9. She went through Nimona, and...

Like her other sisters, Adrienne was put into a tower on her 16th birthday that is guarded by a dragon. She's to await a handsome prince to rescue her. Adrienne is tired and took matters into her own hands: she rescued herself. Now, free of the tower, Adrienne thinks it is time for things to change ...

I had pretty high expectations for this book based on how much I loved the sampler I read. But... wow! This volume took my breathe away. Amazing! I'm actually stunned by how perfect it is. It's almost like a Saga #1 for kids.I love the artwork, loved the characters, and loved the story. Everyone sho...

Excellent all-ages book. The eleven-year-old and I loved pretty much everything about it: the dragon* and tower setup, hair issues, diverse cast, kick-assery, and the extensive discussion of armor. I am ready to read the entire series and will probably give it as a Christmas gift to everyone I can t...

I read this with my girls (7 & 4) and they called it "the best comic book ever." They absolutely adored it and are reading it again themselves. I loved the way it presented all the themes and problems with princess stories and comics books - and in a way that we could easily discuss. Book 2 on order...
