In 1930s Munich, danger lurks behind dark corners, and secrets are buried deep within the city. But Gretchen Müller, who grew up in the National Socialist Party under the wing of her "uncle" Dolf, has been shielded from that side of society ever since her father traded his life for Dolf's, and Gretc...

Hey guys, I hope you all are having a great day and this is my review to Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman. This is the first book in trilogy or duology by her! :D In 1930s Munich, danger lurks behind dark corners, and secrets are buried deep within the city. But Gretchen Müller, who grew...

While I enjoyed this book it definitely doesn't live up to par with Code Name Verity and Rose Under Fire. However its creepiness and difference in reading about what it would be like to live in Hitler's household kept me interested and intrigued. Gretchen has grown up safe and carefree in the hous...

Holy Shit! Yeah, probably not the best way to start a review of one of the best books I’ve read in 2014 so far. Yeah, fangirling. It’s going to happen in this review. True this book had some flaws, but overall I was impressed. This is the sort of book we need more of in YA. Desperately....

I think I want to give this book more of a 2.5 star rating. I have mixed feelings about the book. On one hand, I loved reading this. On the other, I admit that the writing still was kind of, "Oh, well, thanks for telling me." So, let's break this down into categories. My general reactions about readi...

have to admit that when I started this book I thought I was reading a paranormal book, but nothing like this. So when I read the first chapter imagine my surprise when my eyes widen and fell deeper into the story. Plot: In short, this story takes place during the time of Adolf Hitler. Even though ...

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.I was so excited to start this book. The cover had me entranced with it's beauty, and the premise had me very excited. I thought of how amazing this book must be, to deal with all these different elements! Set in Nazi...

Nice mix of historical w/ added fictional characters and situations. The psychoanalytical aspect (with regards to Gretchen's brother and Hitler's mental state) was pretty interesting. Seemed well researched. A bit slow at times, but I enjoyed the light romance element and suspense.

Adolph Hitler is a bit like an onion... he has a lot of layers. (Inappropriate Shrek reference). I thought I knew Hitler pretty well by now, I know of his art and his love of Eva Braun and of course, all the horrors that he created. After reading Prisoner of Night and Fog however, I feel like I know...

I received a copy from Netgalley. This was a fascinating read, a completely new type of YA novel for me. Mixing fiction and fact together in a very absorbing way. There was a lot of history worked in to the novel, and during the first half of the book, told from the point of view of German girl Gretc...
