Promise Hsu (Hong Xu) is an independent journalist and scholar based in Beijing. He has published articles in English journals such as World, Christianity Today, VoegelinView, The Media Project, as well as in Chinese magazines such as Global Entrepreneur, Vista, Almond Flowers, and Territory. He was a world affairs journalist at China Central Television's English news channel. He is the author of China's Quest for Liberty: A Personal History of Freedom published by St. Augustine's Press. He was a member of American Political Science Association.
