Too much of the first part of the book is the mom convincing her daughter none of it is real. She accepts that she can magically heal injuries such as burns and cuts to herself in front of her eyes - but hey, the people trying to kill her are all in her imagination because things like that are impos...

Not sure why this has such a high average rating. It reminded me of a hundred other young adult books published over the past several years, but this book stands out only because it has an angsty, whiny female protagonist who acts more like a freshman in high school rather than in college.

I had high hopes for Promise after reading the forward by the author. The version I read was re-released with better editing and new content. In other words, it as written the way she had originally intended it to be presented. I wasn't disappointed. Promise is a beautifully and well written lov...
