Synopsis
In the shadows of Nocturne City, witches lurk and demons prowl, and homicide detective Luna Wilder must keep the peace—while living life as a werewolf. Now bodies are turning up all over town, the brutal murders linked by a cryptic message: We see with empty eyes…
PURE BLOOD
To make matters worse for Luna, she can’t get wolfishly handsome Dmitri Sandovsky out of her mind. The last time he helped her with a case, Dmitri suffered a demon bite that infected him with a mysterious illness…and now his pack elders have forbidden him from associating with Luna. But she’ll need his help when high-level witches start turning up slaughtered. Because a war is brewing between rival clans of blood witches and caster witches—a magical gang war with the power to burn Nocturne City to the ground.
Praise for the Nocturne City series:
“Pure Blood pounds along hard on the heels of Night Life, and is every bit as much fun as the first in the series. With a gutsy, likable protagonist and a well-made fantasy world, Pure Blood is real enough to make you think twice about locking your doors at night. A swiftly-paced plot, a growing cast of solid supporting characters, and a lead character you can actually care about–Kittredge is a winner.” –Jim Butcher
“Dark and cutting edge” —Romantic Times
“I loved the mystery and the smart, gutsy heroine.”—Karen Chance
“Hot, hip, and fast-paced…I couldn’t put it down”—Lilith Saintcrow

I read this a long time ago, and give 3 stars as a default when this happens.
*Sigh*I hate the idea of abandoning a series (mid-series), but I am considering this one. Luna is so angry. She doesn't stop and think before acting. Her character doesn't seem to be learning from past mistakes. For almost 30, I expect more maturity (or an improvement in behaviors from 1st book)...
Hard to like a book when you hate the leading male character.
Let me say what I DON'T like from this story first. Luna, the heroine, irritates the HELL out of me. Sure, I find tough sarcastic heroines before but Luna's temper issues is just too much. I know that it is because she is a were, but my GOD, she is so quick in losing her temper and judging other peo...
I just finished Pure Blood by Caitlin Kittredge and I must say I'm stunned with the way the book ended. This second instalment in Nocturne City series is much better than the first one. I wasn't hoping that things ended the way they ended. I can't say I feel sad or happy - I just really don't know w...
