Lizzie Nichols has a problem, and it isn't that she's blowing her college graduation money on a trip to visit her long-distance boyfriend Andy in London. She just can't keep anything to herself, including her indignation at finding out her beloved boyfriend hasn't completely faithful to her during their seperation. She's now out on the streets with no money and a non-changeable airline ticket home in exactly a month.Fortunately, Lizzie's best friend Sheryl comes to the rescue. She's spending the summer in the south of France catering for weddings in a romantic sixteenth century chateau, and she's able to sort Lizzie out with a job. One glimpse of the gorgeous Chateau Mirac, not to mention the equally gorgeous son of the owner, and Lizzie is hooked.

5.0 Queen of Babble - Meg Cabot
As much as I like most of Cabot's books, I was slow to pick up this series. My daughter had to read it first and then convince me. "Queen of Babble" didn't sound like something I'd like, as an individual book or as a series. The cover, for some reason, is associated with Shopaholic, and since shoppi...

2.5 StarsI started out really liking it, then about 1/3 in, it got annoying. They weren't kidding about the babble thing, the girl can not shut up! But that wasn't even the problem, I actually started getting used to it and found it funny again later on, My problem was she was always in denial, kept...

I was re-reading this book because I finally got my hands on the sequels. I still liked it even though the protagonist made some stupid decisions. Then again, not everyone makes the right decision anyway.

3.0 Queen of Babble: A Novel
It's quite nice to have a break from reading ponderous tomes about politics, and read something you can actually relate to. Lizzie Nichols is, like you or me, a person with a big heart and a mouth as big. She has no filter, and goes through a ton of shit because of this; kind of like me, heh.
