Quentin Wodon is a Lead Economist in the Education Global Practice at the World Bank. Previously, he managed the World Bank unit on values and development, served as Lead Poverty Specialist for Africa, and as Economist/Senior Economist for Latin America. Before joining the World Bank he was an Assistant Brand Manager with Procter & Gamble, a volunteer corps member with the International Movement ATD Fourth World, and a tenured professor with the University of Namur. He has also taught at American University and Georgetown University.Quentin holds graduate degrees in Business Engineering, Economics, and Philosophy from the Université Catholique de Louvain, a PhD in Economics from American University, and a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies from Catholic University of America. He has more than 400 publications, including in journals such as The Economic Journal, International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, and The Lancet. His most recent books include Climate Change Adaptation and Social Resilience in the Sundarbans (Routledge, 2015), Investing in Early Childhood Development (World Bank, 2015), School Infrastructure in Paraguay (World Bank, 2015), Infrastructure and Poverty in sub-Saharan Africa (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), Education in sub-Saharan Africa (World Bank, 2014), Faith-Based Schools in Latin America (World Bank, 2014), Climate Change and Migration (World Bank, 2014), and Membership in Service Clubs (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014).Quentin is a recipient of the Prize of Belgium’s Secretary of Foreign Trade, a Fulbright grant, and the Dudley Seers Prize for best article in Journal of Development Studies. He serves on several advisory boards and as Associate Editor for journals. A past President of the Society of Government Economists, he is currently Vice President of the Association for Social Economics. He enjoys pro bono consulting for nonprofits and is actively involved in Rotary with his club (Capitol Hill) and his district (as Evaluation Adviser and Interact Committee Chair).
