Quicksilver by Amanda Quick Book 11 of Arcane Society -- Book 2 of Looking Glass Trilogy Virginia Dean wakes at midnight beside a dead body, with a bloody knife in her hand and no memory of the evening's events. Dark energy, emanating from the mirrors lining the room, overpowers her senses. Wi...

This second book is written historically. Virginia and Owen seem to work well together with their talents and are drawn to each other. As the violence of their fight against the automons rises, so does their feeling for each other and their passions. They dodge danger and gaslight fire to solve the ...

I was swept up by this story of Owen Sweetwater's investigation of why Virginia Dean woke up beside the body of a man, with no memory of killing him. She's a glass-reader and two have turned up dead. It's pretty much a paint-by-numbers work for the most part, the only thing that saves it are the c...

I was hesitating on making this a three or four star (for me, three star is a good, re-read), and the memory of the housekeeper kicked it over into four stars. Quicksilver has quite a cast of characters and they're all clear. Brilliant work by Amanda Quick to so swiftly define them in my reader-mind...

And JAK's alter-ego does it again. As I said in my review for In Too Deep there was something missing in the contemporary part of the Looking Glass Trilogy. This historical part had it all. Romance, intrigue, murder, mayhem, secrets, suspense, sex, paranormal. Even the "soul-mate thingy" on steroids...

2.5 stars...I really wanted to enjoy the latest in the Arcane series, but I thought it was just OK. I think I am getting a little bored with the series. Ms. Quick (AKA Jayne Anne Krentz) follows her basic formula to a "T" here. I'd like to see her mix things up a little and maybe write something ...

Loved learning more about the Sweetwaters. Virginia & Owen were typical Quick leads, but I still really enjoyed reading about their relationship.
