I had to adjust my expectations a bit, as I thought this book took place in a more "typical" medieval-like fantasy setting. So it's more "urban fantasy" than straight-up fantasy (despite the unicorns and the medeival sword on the cover), which is not my favorite fantasy genre -- but this book held m...

Hmm, this sounds really good and seems to have gotten some good reviews. Then this pulled me up short:"But when one of the monsters attacks her boyfriend—thereby ruining any chance of him taking her to the prom—Astrid finds herself headed to Rome to train as a unicorn hunter at the ancient cloister...

I really liked this book! In the beginning it was slow reading but things really take off soon enough. Once you understand the history involved it becomes easily believeable - something I never expected out of a book involving killer unicorns. I easily recommened this book!

I have looked at this at the library a few times, but was hesitant, because I'm not a big fan of unicorns, I'd much rather read about zombies.Have read For Darkness Shows the Stars, though, I decided to give this a try, and I'm glad I did. Add in girls who are chosen to hunt them, and a setting in Rome, and I thought I was in for a ride made of awesom...

I didn't expect much from this book, I expected a fun little read but I really enjoyed it. So when her boy friend gets stab by one her world is turned upside down....
