Randolph Thomas is the author of two prize-winning books: Dispensations, a short story collection and winner of the Many Voices Project Award from New Rivers Press, recently named a finalist for Forward Reviews' INDIEFAB Book of the Year; and The Deepest Rooms, a collection of poetry and winner of the Gerald Cable Award, forthcoming from Silverfish Review Press in spring 2015. His short stories have appeared in Glimmer Train Stories, The Hudson Review, Blue Mesa Review, The Florida Review, Southwest Review, Harpur Palate, Arts and Letters, Washington Square Review, and many others journals. His poems have appeared in Poetry, Quarterly West, The Greensboro Review, Seneca Review, Witness, Puerto Del Sol, and many others. He has won the Glimmer Train Stories Family Matters Award, the John Gardner Memorial Award, and The Florida Review Editors Prize for fiction, and received artist grants from the Arkansas Arts Council and the Louisiana Division for the Arts for his poetry. Also a singer/songwriter/guitarist, he has performed solo and in rock and roll and folk bands and was a founding member of Flatbed Honeymoon. A native of southwest Virginia, Randolph Thomas attended Radford University and the University of Arkansas, where he earned an MFA in Creative Writing. He currently lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and teaches at Louisiana State University.
