Raw Blue is one of those books with a very apt title. It indeed is a raw book. It's a book about finding yourself, dealing with or avoiding the past (whichever way you see it) and coming to terms with family differences. There're a lot of reasons for Carly to be down but she has one escape: surfing....

3.5 - 4 StarsI really enjoyed Raw Blue. I think it depicts Carly's struggles to find herself and to find the strength to continue on with life really well. My only problem is I feel I didn't get to know the characters well enough.

4.5I have never felt so alone for some one in my life. Carly, I just want to hug you! Would have been a 5 but just a little too much surf speak for my liking. Review to come.

Flamin' Nora, mate - what a read! I have never met an Australian book I didn't end up loving (let's just forget I ever owned The Slap) but this is definitely one of the best. Raw, funny and I'm now talking in an Aussie accent. Great stuff.

I'd like to give this a higher rating but I cannot. It probably does deserve a higher rating but I never felt the spark, I couldn't connect. There was no revelation or something. It's a heartbreaking story.I didn't think it would affect me so much, but what happened to Carly is such a horrible thing that I genuinely felt for her. I guess everyone deals with things like these in a different way, and I get it why she is...

ETA: The books is available again in the US, at least as e-Book.This book was fantastic. I wish there were more New Adult/YA books like this out there. Very emotional and gritty, it's not easy to read and the ending is hopeful but not exactly happy. The heroine, Carly, broke my heart and her story g...

I had to quit at page 80. I couldn't handle the ADHD approach to writing. At times, the actions of some of the paragraphs did not conclude before the writer jumped to the next paragraph. I felt like I was missing chunks of the page as I read. By the time we reach some action, I could not remember Ry...

Rating: 4.5 Stars In life we often come across beautiful books - books that have kick-ass characters, amazing plot lines, or descriptive writing - but very rarely do we come across a book that manages to be beautiful simply because it captures the true essence of humanity in all it's raw emotions, c...
