Though the Mirrorworld is certainly intriguing, the characters don't feel entirely fleshed out, and the plot rushes by at such a pace that it is all to easy to lose your bearing. I loved Cornelia Funke's Inkheart books, but her others don't seem to live up to that rich, detailed, living world she created. This is a good book, just not necessarily a great one.
