About The Author
George Alfred Henty (1832 – 1902), was an English novelist widely known for his historical adventure stories published in the late 19th century. His books include The Dragon & The Raven (1886), For The Temple (1888), Under Drake's Flag (1883) and In Freedom's Cause (1885) .
He left the university and volunteered for the Army Hospital Commissariat when the Crimean War began and his letters home were published in The Morning Advertiser newspaper, launching his writing career as a war correspondent and later as a novelist.
