This has to be one of the most overrated books I've ever encountered. The translation is clunky, featuring words like 'forsooth', 'anon' and 'gallimaufry'; the narrative is ponderous - all tell and no show; the tone is sanctimoniously politically correct; and the premise is utterly implausible.
