Does the world really need yet another résumé writing (CV writing) book?

There are already hundreds in the marketplace – Amazon alone lists more than 2,950, and most of those are also available for Kindle.

So why do we need another?

One of the UK’s top Career Coaches and CV/résumé Writers Stephen Thompson has lifted the lid on some key elements that dramatically improve the effectiveness of the CV or résumé in your job search; key elements that are seldom mentioned by professionals.

Why are they not mentioned? Steve leaves the answer to that almost rhetorical question to the reader. He believes, in this age of increasing transparency, that he has an obligation to the job seeking public to share his specialist knowledge about résumé writing.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, he doesn’t feel that sharing this information will damage or weaken his business. Writing interview winning CVs and résumés, cover letters, and providing job search advice is his bread-and-butter. It’s not a hobby. So why does he think making these insider secrets public won’t have an impact?

During a recent job fair interview, Steve had this to say in answer to the question:

'Much of the information I share in this book is common sense. The problem is that common sense is not that common today. People are busy, and have multiple competing distractions in their lives. Plus language, and the skill of writing, are becoming more and more diluted as so-called 'text speak', media and celebrity 'slang', and a gradually declining education system take us further and further away from good formal communication.

Although I’m effectively giving away this information, the majority of my clients are professionals. They have neither the time nor the inclination to write their own résumé, and would much rather trust a fellow professional to do the job properly for them. It’s no different really than employing a mechanic to service your car, tasking a solicitor to handle your Will, or engaging an architect to deal with your kitchen extension.'

This small but tightly packed information mine explains the final few 'secrets' you need to know that – until now – professional résumé and CV writers have kept to themselves. Anyone who is an ambitious and proactive jobseeker or career changer needs to get this book.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the ‘secret’ Pro techniques, tips and tricks you’ll learn from this book:
