It's hard to talk about a book when you completely dislike the main character. Since that 100% colored my perception I will say that otherwise I think that this could have been a completely different experience if I had had someone to root for. Too bad.

Probably the most fun I've had reading a book this year! Well written with likeable characters and plenty of high adventure. One of the few books to make me laugh out loud a fair few times.
Four and a half stars. First read through, have to say it was very good. Probably my favorite steampunk to date, and a fine novel all around. Airships, gunfights, pirates, a golem, daemons... lots of fun ingredients but also fully developed characters. A little bit of the "shades of grey" protagonis...
