Weird blend of technology and scifi with magic and paranormal. Never really felt connected to Jewel or Thorne as characters and I never felt the Iron Angel/cult storyline had much to offer. Jewel and Thorne continue their quests and new characters are introduced, while old ones make reappearances. Etc. It was fine and I actually liked it better than the third one.

2.5 starsPretty decent. World-building. Setting the stage. Jewel and Thorn have POV's, but they are on separate journeys the entire book until they meet up at the very end.
