Rikke Schubart is an associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). She writes in Danish and English about popular American cinema, mostly genre cinema. Fantastic films, horror films, action films, war films. In Denmark she is the expert on fantastic films, horror films, violence in films, heroes (both male and female) and strong women in film. Some people wonder when she will write about serious film art - this only happens when 'serious' overlaps with popular. She has written on mainstream phenomena like Game of Thrones and Eastwood's films and also on cult phenomena like the films of Meiko Kaji and Pam Grier and Dyanne Thorne. She also writes fiction; she has written a children's book and two vampire novels, all published in Danish.Her third vampire novel is forthcoming in 2015.
