So we finally come to The Great War. This has been slowly building for four or five books now, each book has had some hint about this major event and how it will effect the characters. If I'm to be honest, I don't think I've read this book more then once or maybe twice. The first time I read it, I w...
What a beautiful ending to a masterful, emotional series. Rilla of Ingleside was outstanding in so many ways. The really incredible characteristic of this novel was the depiction of World War I and how those on the home-front living through those times experienced it.The pain, the loss, the enduring...
I like Rilla, but to be honest I lost interest in the Anne series. I wanted to finish it for two reasons: It was the last book; and my grandma gave it to me.
PSA: Apparently, the Bantam edition of this is abridged - with some 4500 words having been left out from the original. The Gutenberg edition should be complete though.Again, not an "Anne"-book as such, as the focus is definitely on Rilla. Still, one can forgive LMM for that, as it's still mostly abo...
This was the first book that ever made me cry. If you haven't read it yet be sure to keep a box of tissues handy. You will need them.It was enjoyable to hear from a slightly different protagonist in the form of Anne's youngest daughter, Rilla. A trifle stuck-up at first, she quickly becomes a more r...

But when I was younger, there was one book of the Anne series that tended to lie lonesome and dusty and almost prist...
This was the only one of the Anne of Green Gables series that I actually had to slog through. However, I'm glad that I did, because I got to watch the main character, who was whiny at first, get faced with challenges and roadblocks that force her to grow up and be a stronger person. Better yet, she ...
This is a stand-out in the series for me, I love Rilla. If Dog Monday doesn't make you cry, I don't know what will. He breaks my heart every time.
This is the last in the Anne Series and it was probably my second favorite. I am so thankful that Montgomery ended the series so well. The title character is Anne and Gilbert's youngest daughter. Rilla is no carbon copy of Anne. She has her own distinct personality - a frivolous teen with no maj...
