Another excellent fantasy by Hale. This third book pivots to a male POV with great success, and delves into political drama and learning to value your own uniqueness. Which, yes that's the heart of nearly every YA book, but Hale has a shockingly deft touch at it; she's a master of showing through me...

The third of the Books of Bayern series, River Secrets switches protagonists again. This time the book follows Razo, a soldier of Bayern and close friend of Isi and Enna, the protagonists of the first two books. Tensions are still high between Bayern and Tira after the war between the two countries ...

3.5 or 3.75 stars. Well done, but not on the same level as Enna Burning and Goose Girl. Will elaborate later.

Finn, Enna and Razo find themselves on a diplomatic escursion in a country where people are starting to rumble about war and where suspicion of some deaths is pointing at them It's an interesting sequel but you really need to have read the others in the sequence before reading this.

Razo is so freakin' awesome! He alone deserves 10 stars, and then throw in a thrilling plotline and Shannon Hale's writing, and you've got a completely brilliant book!

I have really enjoyed most of Shannon Hale's books and this one is no exception. Not only do we get to meet up with the more familiar characters we were introduced to in the Goose Girl, but the one that popped up in both Goose and Enna was finally given a bit more attention. My only real complaint i...

I just love sequels!!! I am ultimately, undeniably, extremely (okay, too much adjectives!) in love with Razo! Oh dear, dear Razo, you feel so down you don't even realize how much you're worth! *giggles*Razo's character is someone that you would definitely remember. He's cunning, funny, sweet and buoy...
