I haven't read any Stendahl and this sounds like fun. I don't have an opinion about this translation.
I hated this so called classic novel. It was pointless and digressive and at least this translation (or the original words) were tiresome.
Hmmm, I didn't love this as much as I hoped or expected. The story is just 'okay' - a bit long and rambling. I do think some kids will enjoy trying to recreate some of the tangram animals, but I believe there are better Tangram books out there.
