Robert B. Taylor, M.D. is Professor Emeritus at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon and Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. A board-certified family physician, Dr. Taylor is a 1961 graduate of the Temple University School of Medicine. He trained in the USPHS Hospital at Norfolk, Virginia, and was in private practice in New Paltz, New York for 14 years. In 1978 he joined the faculty of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In 1984, Dr. Taylor became Chairman of the Family Medicine Department of the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine. He is the author or editor of 33 medical books, including 6 editions of "Family Medicine: Principles and Practice." Dr. Taylor and his wife, Anita, currently live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he continues to lecture and write books for health care professionals, including a new book titled "On the Shoulders of Medicine's Giants."
