Robert Garner McBrearty has published three collections of short stories: A Night at the Y; Episode; and most recently, Let the Birds Drink in Peace, published by Conundrum Press. His short stories have been widely published in leading literary venues, such as: The Pushcart Prize, Missouri Review, North American Review, Narrative,New England Review, Story Quarterly, and Mississippi Review. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he has also won a Sherwood Anderson Foundation Fiction Award and has had fellowships to the MacDowell Colony and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. His short stories have often been selected for large performance readings by professional actors at Stories on Stage in Denver and at the Arts and Letters Live show at the Dallas Museum of Art. Currently, he teaches writing at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
