Robert Rogers (1941- ) was born in Newark, N.J. and grew up in nearby Union, N.J. where he attended Livingston Grade School and Union High School. He received his BS and MS degrees from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri - Columbia. His career in the forestry profession spans 44 years as consultant, researcher, and university professor specializing in the quantitative aspects of forestry. The author of numerous professional writings and oral presentations he is now Emeritus Professor of Forestry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.Bob received the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 2003 University Scholar Award, the 2003 College of Natural Resources Scholarship Award and the College of Natural Resources 2005 Outstanding Professional Service Award. He has also been recognized by The International Union of Forestry Research Organizations for his leadership role as project leader/associate leader of the silviculture and improvement of oak project from 1995 to 2005 and by former Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle for his service as a member of the Wisconsin Council on Forestry from 2003 to 2010. Bob is a 45 year member of the Society of American Foresters where he served in several leadership roles.Bob currently resides with his wife, Barbara, in Custer, Wisconsin. They enjoy their three children and 7 grandchildren. Bob's hobbies include woodworking, photography, hunting and fishing.
