I could totally see this one as an old Doris Day movie where the innocent heroine pretends to be a sophisticated woman of the world and in the process the sophisticated man of the world tumbles into love with her.Very enjoyable read!

Here we have a story about a guy who was having a secret affair with his boss's wife. When they were about to be exposed, the OW concocted a plan to have him marry someone in name only as a cover. The heroine he married was the typical virginal, 20-something, dowdy duckling turned beautiful swan w...

This one was an angstfest. My nerves are shot...mostly because of my unfufilled desire for retribution. The couple is suppose to be so in love, but when the heroine comes home early from a business trip, she finds the hero on the couch having a champagne picnic and making out with a "friend" with ...

Not His Kind Of Woman - by Roberta Leigh - Harlequin Presents - # 1585 - 1993. Timing is everything. Adam Brooke and Diana Farrow were born into different worlds. He was a working stiff from the wrong side of the tracks, and she was the only child in a privileged home. But when they were alone toget...

3.5 starsThis book was a tear jerker. There were three characters I got at least misty over. Not the hero though. I enjoyed his suffering. He was an ubber jerk. Lots and lots of spoilers here. At the beginning of the story, the heroine worked for the father of the hero. The H was injured in a...

Rating 3.5 starsKind of predictable but still enjoyable. I liked how the heroine was feisty, smart and successful. I also liked how she didn't pine for the hero when he pushed her away(we learn later it was for her own safety). Of course there is an ex-OW on the scene who makes her claim quite clear...

I’m not sure why I started this one: I don’t like Leigh much and I usually hate this trope. But it’s from the period in which I first read Harlequin Presents, and the awesome 70’s Craig cover made me nostalgic. I think I was channeling that adolescent self as I read it, because it was actually pret...

I liked the premise of the story, but the actuality fell a bit short. Tessa pretends to be 18 as a joke and then wonders why Patrick, who is in his early 30s, is hesitant to become involved with her. The OW turns out to be quite nice in the end and takes herself out of the picture. Enjoyable, but...
