Roger Stevens is a children's author and poet who visits schools performing and running workshops. His most recent books are On My Way to School I Saw a Dinosaur (A&C Black) for younger children; a poetry anthology - A Million Brilliant Poems - Part One (A&C Black)which was shortlisted for the CLPE award and Beware Low Flying Rabbits. Other books include The Jumble Book (Macmillan), compiled for Dyslexia Action; Let's Recycle Grandad, an anthology for A&C Black; Able Writers in Your School (Brilliant Publications) a book for teachers (with Brian Moses) and Why Otters Don't Wear Socks (Macmillan). The Journal of Danny Chaucer, a verse novel for teenagers, was broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play. He has written children's novels, short stories and musicals. He composed the music for Floella Benjamin's Hey Diddle Diddle on Radio 7. Roger also runs the Poetry Zone, a website for children and teachers www.poetryzone.co.ukAlthough Roger's work is mainly for children, he regularly performs and reads for adults and performs in folk clubs. He plays keyboards in Damn Right I Got the Blues, which also features best-selling author Ken Follett and Lady Floella Benjamin.
