I think I was in the wrong mood for this. I remember liking it a lot better when I read it in high school.
This was an entertaining start to the classic fantasy series. Just enough magic and action to keep my attention. Listened to the audio version read by Alessandro Juliani who handled with first person narration with great aplomb.
