Ron Emmons (www.ronemmons.com) is a British writer and photographer who lived and worked for long periods in Africa and the Americas before moving to North Thailand, where he is now based. He is the author of several guide books as well as the photographic Portrait of Thailand (New Holland, 2008). His feature articles on travel, culture, Nature, Buddhism and photography have appeared in a wide range of international publications such as Hemispheres (United Airlines) and the South China Morning Post. In early 2013, Ron updated listings for DK Eyewitness Travel Guide to Thailand and DK Eyewitness Travel Guide to Vietnam. In the latter part of the year, he is updating the National Geographic Traveler Guide to Vietnam, as well his app for iPhone, Essential Guide to Hanoi.
